Pioneer Meadows’ Stone Soup Observatory project is underway. We are building a roll-off roof observatory to house our new Meade LX-90 reflecting telescope, which was donated by one of our families and is suitable for visual viewing and photography. The computerized 8” diameter telescope has an integrated GPS for fixing location and exact current time. We call it “Stone Soup” Observatory based on a story of the same name: If each person brings just one component of what is needed then we can, together, build our observatory.

Viewings will take place based on interest and weather. Once the project is complete, we will send out emails announcing viewing opportunities.
